Anyone that’s known me for long knows the significant role the band Over the Rhine has played in my musical development. They taught this full-blown metal-head that sometimes less is more, & that – at times -subtlety can be far more powerful that bombast. It’s not often that I discover new music that moves me life theirs did, so when I do I need to share it.
Meet my new friends, The Promise is Hope. Made up of Ashley & Eric L’Esperance of Massachusetts, you are as likely to catch them leading worship in a church as performing at a bar of coffee house, & their music is absolutely lovely.
Check out the video below of the making of their latest song, & subscribe to the channel for future in-studio documentaries!
Hey Shannon, thank you so much for taking the time to share us with your readers. You words encouraging and kind, and I can’t express how much we appreciate them. As a formal metal-head myself Over the Rhine was also one of the first outfits to help me hear music in a new and fresh way. Their influence on me as a musician also cannot be overstated. Thank you for your support!
